About Tortas Ahogadas El Chivito

The road to success is built by hard work.

Tortas Ahogadas “El Chivito” is a proudly family-owned business run by two best friends and their family and friends. “El Chivito” (as many referred to us for short) has its humble beginnings more than 10 years ago in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico. But fell in love with San Antonio and established the first food truck at Balcones Heights at Crossroad Blvd. Where we are still serving our delicious food today, and from our second location at Marbach Rd.

Our mission is to provide the most authentic Mexican food experience, especially with the traditional Guadalajara signature dishes like, torta ahogada, consomé de birria, quesabirrias, menudo, tacos dorados, quesadillas and more.

We strive to provide our clients with the upmost service and the best fresh quality produced food in San Antonio.

I got the Beef Quesabirrias. An order of the onions and cilantro. It was made fresh and the salsa was a good too. The salsa wasn’t too spicy so you could still enjoy it all together without your mouth on fire. For the quesabirria they’re sold individually so I would say get at least 3. The drink I got was the Watermelon agua Fresca. Had bits of watermelon was a good drink. There is outdoor seating and inside too to stay cool.

Piccadilly empanada and birria ramen were amazing!!! Next time I visit San Antonio, I hope we’re close by because it’s a must!! I haven’t found birria ramen in DFW metroplex.

They have drive thru or you can walk up and order. There’s limited seating outside, picnic table style seating. I don’t remember time of day I went, but it wasn’t lunch and it was packed. Their parking lot is small, so the drive thru set up is narrow and tight.

Absolutely fantastic food, their quesabirrias were fantastic and the torta ahogada was money, that dipping broth was amazing. They also have some of the best horchata I’ve ever had. The service was great and super friendly. Go here!
